Trapcraft

Trapcraft

Trapcraft 1 - Basic Trapcraft
Cost: 1 Mana
Intelligence + Crafts + Trapcraft
Construction Time: 10 minutes per trap, at Trapcraft 3 this becomes 1 minute per trap.

With this ability you can design simple traps, such as a shallow pit trap, a drop net, a snare, or other easy to build trap. A basic trap inflicts bashing damage equal to the number of successes you get, or restrains a target for 1 round per success unless they spend an entire round and successfully get more successes than your trap to escape with a Dexterity + Athletics roll. The number of successes needed to detect a basic trap is 1 + 1 per 2 successes you got on your Intelligence + Crafts + Trapcraft roll.

Trapcraft 2 - Advanced Trapcraft
Cost: 2 Mana
Intelligence + Crafts + Trapcraft
Construction Time: 10 minutes per trap, at trapcraft 4 this becomes 1 minute per trap

With this ability you can design more elaborate traps, such as a deeper pit trap or one with spikes at the bottom, a retracting snare, a poison dart trap, or other more complex trap. An advanced trap inflicts lethal damage equal to the number of successes you get, or bashing damage equal to twice the number of successes you get, or restrains a target for 5 rounds per success until they spend enough rounds and successfully get a total of twice as many successes as you did to create your trap, on Dexterity + Athletics rolls. The number of successes needed to detect a basic trap is 1 + 1 per success you got on your Intelligence + Crafts + Trapcraft roll.

Trapcraft 3 - Minefield
Cost: 3 Mana + 1 Willpower
Wits + Crafts + Trapcraft
Area: 500 square foot area per Soul, at Trapcraft 4, 1000' per Soul, at Trapcraft 5, 1500 feet per Soul.
Construction time: 1 hour per area section to be trapped, at Trapcraft 5 this becomes 10 minutes per area to be trapped.

This level of Trapcraft lets you trap an area, filling an area with a total number of traps equal to twice the number of successes you rolled. A basic trap takes 1 success, an advanced trap takes 2 and a master trap takes 3. You can fill a number of areas equal to your Soul.

Trapcraft 4 - Master Trapcraft
Cost: 3 Mana
Intelligence + Crafts or Alchemy + Trapcraft
Construction Time: 1 Minute per success

You can now use alchemical reagents in your traps, creating truly deadly and confounding traps, such as a pit trap that drops acid on a target, a door handle with a death viper poison tipped needle concealed inside, alchemists fire drops, or deadly pitfalls and rock slides. A master trap inflicts aggravated or lethal damage equal to the number of successes you get, or bashing damage equal to three times the number of successes you get, or restrains a target for 1 minute per success until they spend enough rounds and successfully get a total of three times as many successes as you did to create your trap, on Dexterity + Athletics rolls. The number of successes needed to detect a basic trap is 1 + 2 per success you got on your Intelligence + Crafts + Trapcraft roll.

Trapcraft 5 - Combat Traps
Cost: 3 Mana
Dexterity + Crafts or Alchemy + Trapcraft
You can now create and use traps and other hindrances in combat, creating simplified versions of more elaborate traps. You whip up alchemical agents, fling ropes and make terrain more deadly than it seemingly is. A basic trap takes 1 success, an advanced trap takes 2 and a master trap takes 3. After subtracting the number of successes required to construct a trap of your requirement, the rest of the successes function normally.
